Enriching the core - not making more

Eminent thinkers, theorists and  designers (ignore fashion please ) have proposed how 'less is more.' It is an essential and interesting filter when it is about conveying an idea that is singular in expression but open to multiple interpretations, meanings and endings. It is relevant in the received sense of meaning...but how does one apply it when u are in the business of creating meanings.

To begin with, LESS in the context of creation means little, but it does not necessarily mean little is better than more. If we elaborate the phrase further it makes a bit more sense - less clutter is more richer.  The challenge of creation is to bring in relevant content that is interesting and paves the way forward. A way to eliminate clutter is to focus on the core almost obsessively and create core evolution. Build on the core and enrich it with singular yet progressive ideas.

Core enrichment is a linear development process whereas core reinvention is a cyclic process, Reinvention needs an upheaval and sustained investments. Enrichment needs visual editions, or proof that comes from fresh perspectives and the rare eye of the innovator.  Reinvention needs radical thinking and more of the outside in approach where you breakdown and the core and reconstruct it with enormous structural integrity.

Less is more works for ideas rich in content - but it does not substitute enrichment.
